That’s right - we just got our stimulus check! We’re oldschool and sent in our taxes vs. doing it online - which actually worked out to our benefit!

Last Friday, we bought bikes! The best part is they are twinsies!!! I love that, but Aaron is a little embarassed by it. Oh well! We took them out for a spin down to Boulevard Park to get coffee and then cruised to Fairhaven to get gelato! On our way home, we ran into our good friends Chris and Julie down by the Chrysalis! Sweet! Julie took a picture or Aaron, Chris, and I with our new sweet bikes!

Then we kicked Chris out and Julie told us to kiss! No objections here!

I love the new bikes! Aaron and I have been riding almost every day! Did I mention that they are lime green?

Summer time!

We are so excited that it is finally summer!  Woohoo!

I’m going to try to post more pictures of our adventures in photography as well as my year long table project!  Sorry it has been so long!

Megs

Ugh, so this past week Aaron and I have both been sick, with different things. Last Saturday I just thought that my nasty allergies were getting to me, but by Saturday night, it was definitely more than allergies. I was achy, sore, my nose was stuffed up, my eyes were watering, and, well, lots more. I slept most of Sunday. I called in sick on monday, and slept from 9-5, solid. I drove to work on tuesday and went to medical, only to be sent home. The stand in PA told me that it was probably a sinus infection, and to wait it out. Great. So, being stubborn, I drove to work again on Wednesday and tried to help out. But my coworkers told me to go home, that they were fine without me, and to get better. They are great, and I appreciate them! So, it’s wednesday, and as soon as I got back home I went back to bed for 8 more hours. At this point I am still not feeling any better, and it has been 5 days, oh, and at this point I have lost 10 pounds. I have never been this sick in my life, and always pride myself on having a strong immune system - but not this time. My good friend and conveniently located neighbor Heather offers me her crazy nose-drain teapot thing, and I thought, I’ll give anything a shot at this point. And I swear, that thing was the turning point. I still felt kind of crappy going to bed, but now my nose was a little bit clearer. Aaron ’strongly encouraged’ me to not even try going in on Thursday, so I took his advice. I slept in on Thursday and kind of felt a little bit better. So I took the day to recover and will be headed to work tomorrow. But here are some funny things that Aaron and I learned about each other this week:

1. I can be a mad mucous making machine

2. Pounding through 3 boxes of Kleenex in 4 days is doable

3. That Aaron does a great song/dance that makes you feel better for 2 seconds

4. When one of you makes the other laugh, you both end in a whooping cough war (it just happened!)

5. Watching Dan in Real Life three times in two days is a great idea

6. Hiring someone to paint your backroom is the best idea in the world when you’re sick (More on that coming soon!!)

7. As for this whole ‘in sickness and in health’ thing - Aaron is the most amazing husband to have!! Thanks, Aaron, I love you!!

Now it’s my turn to take care of sicky Aaron. Poor guy! He’s definitely functional as a human, but not healthy! We would love your prayers for a healthy Nelson household! Thanks! :-)

Root for his team as they are in state right now!! Next game - Saturday!

{Massage}

Oh, how wonderful Whatcom Community College is!  And why did I not know about this before in the 8 years that I have lived here!  I just got a massage - and it was awesome!!  The best part is that it was only $25.  You can’t beat that price for an hour massage! The program lets you make an appointment to get a massage by one of the students - and it is my understanding that it is only at this time of year.

Ahhh, I’m so relaxed!  Can’t wait to do it again next week!….and the week after.  I think that there are still a few appointments to be made - so you can call the college and see!  I would HIGHLY recommend it! :-)

{Birthday}

Yesterday was a big day - it was my birthday!! Aaron surprised me with dinner plans at the Cliff House - which, funny enough, is only a few blocks from our house. It has almost the same view of Bellingham Bay from our house, minus all the wires! I make sure to tell Aaron all the time that he is ‘my favorite husband ever!”

There was a gorgeous sunset - God is amazing!

Thanks to all who called me - especially Jenn @ 5:45am! Jenn and I now share April 8th as a special day - it is her and Dan’s wedding anniversary! Congrats to them on their anniversary!

{parker john}

Here is a quick peak at some new photos! Parker is the newest member to the Mondau family! I’ll write more about them later - I just wanted to put up a few photos!

In this first one, I intentionally cropped out the scene at hand - because, let’s be honest, what happens between a man and his diaper is his business!

Magnolia Grace

So, I should be getting ready for Vegas right now, or sleeping because I have to get up super early, but I would rather be blogging!

I asked Brian and Shannon if I could take some pictures of their newborn baby - Magnolia Grace! She is sooooo cute! And such a head of hair - I’m glad Aaron wasn’t there - he would be jealous! Magnolia Grace was born on February 29th - which I think is awesome!! I posted more pictures on Aaron’s blog - so you’ll have to go there to see more!

This was a fun thing for me to do because it was my first photo shoot by myself!

Marine Park!

So I went out shooting this weekend with two great photographers to work on my mad photography skills - and Julie and Amy were great resources for me! Julie Harrell and Amy Parsons are each local photographers that rock….and in a few weeks….Julie, Amy, Aaron, and I are headed to Vegas! More on that later…

Here are some pictures - Enjoy!

Here is Holly, Roland, and I working hard!  This was a picture taken for the Whatcom Works newspaper to show the inside world of ConocoPhillips.  This is a scanned image from the newspaper, hence the amazing quality!

What a fun weekend!

We just had a great weekend! It is sooooo sunny - and I am so ready for spring. I just feel that us Washitonians really deserve some nice weather after the long winter. Is that really too much to ask? We started the weekend by watching Holly sing at Poppe’s. Holly and I work together, and Yanis is an ex-tech. You wouldn’t know that we all look really, really ridiculously good-looking in blue Nomex at work. Yanis recently hung up his lab coat to pursue nursing - good luck, murse!!

Then Aaron and I headed to the Sportsplex the next morning for some soccer!

After that, we got to play with all of our friends that came up from Lynnwood/Puyallup to go to a wedding up at Semiahmoo. We took them on a little hikey-hike to Clayton Beach. Here are pics of Aaron, Courtney, Jason, Annette, Matt, Kaycee, Micah, and I. Enjoy!
